| High web site placement can be achieved in the Major Engines, after carefully reviewing your pages and preparing them for submission with proper optimization. Use this page for easy access to add your URL's to multiple Engines and Directories. However, we must warn you that if your site has not been optimized, it is likely that you are not going to achieve the desired results you are looking for. You may even be banned by some Engines for unintentionally "Spamming". If you are not familiar with the "LAWS" of the Search Engines, please visit our WEB page SIG, and post your questions on our FORUM. |

Once your web site has been submitted, it will be added to a huge list of other sites scheduled for visitation by the Search Engine's robots. The robots will "spider" or "crawl" through every word on every page, to obtain all relevant keywords and topic information on the content of your site. The Search Engines will then "index" this information in to a searchable database, designed for access by the general public. The best locations for your Keywords are in the TITLE and DISCRIPTION tags! The text in a pages TITLE need not be grammatically accurate; however, it should contain the most important of your keywords. As there is a 60-character size limit to the TITLE tag, and a 150-character size limit to the DISCRIPTION tag, it is imperative you use this space wisely! Do NOT repeat any one word more than three times! Any pages which contain an over usage of keywords in the META tags, are considered "Spam", and will be removed from the index. Any pages which contain severe HTML errors, will also be ignored. Therefore, it is the author's responsibility to create a page with a well balanced quantity of keywords, usually a density of 4-6% will suffice. Density is the ratio of keyword usage, to total words in the page. For instance, the word "search" is used 23 times in this page, with a Frequency of: 6.336%. There are 1135 words. Pages which properly use META tags, will generally rank higher in search result positions. However, not all Search Engines rely on META tags for indexing. There are several which use the text in an image "ALT=" tag, as well as the text contained between the comment tags. Because most Search Engines are commercial businesses, their rules, requirements and ownership's are constantly changing! So the massive information on the WEB regarding submission policies and practices, may not always be accurate! Manual submission is more effective than an auto submit site, and you are less likely to generate any Spam. There are many Sites which offer submission to thousands of search engines, do not trust them, as they are rarely upgraded to meet the current Search Engine's requirements! |
