ESD
(Electrostatic Discharge)
Short for electrostatic discharge, the rapid discharge of static electricity from one conductor to another of a different potential. An electrostatic charge can damage integrated circuits found in computer and communications equipment. ESD can easily destroy semiconductor products, even when the discharge is to small to be felt.
