What is PFR? Passport-Free Roaming Wireless Mobility Points
Passport-Free Roaming

This Trapeze Networks feature provides a Layer 2 path for Layer 3 traffic, preserving IP addresses, sessions and other wired attributes as users roam the WLAN. When users roam and associate with different wireless Mobility Points and Mobility Exchanges, their identities, locations, authentication state, VLAN/subnet assignments, and permissions move with them. PFR ensures true seamless integration from wired to wireless. By tunneling Layer 3 traffic at Layer 2, the Trapeze Mobility System lets users remain connected with the same IP identity and keep the same router-based security and QoS policies while they roam the WLAN.
