WindowsNT is scalable and designed for use on a broad range of platforms, including high-end workstations. WindowsNT consists of two versions - the basic product and the WindowsNT Advanced Server. As such, the operating system has been positioned by Microsoft for client-server computing over networked systems. The most advanced version of the Windows operating system, WindowsNT is a 32-bit operating system that supports preemptive multitasking.
