     AVI, as defined by Microsoft® , stands for Audio Video Interleave. AVI is the most common format for audio/video data on the PC. AVI is a de facto standard. Works with RealPlayer® and Media Player® AVI is the file format used by Video for Windows, one of three video technologies used on personal computers. (The others are MPEG and QuickTime®.) In AVI, picture and sound elements are stored in alternate interleaved pieces in the file.
     AVI file formats utilizing the latest MPG4 and Compression Technology are used with CSN1 DVR Servers. These formats are saved to the server can be distributed via computer networks, email, FTP and removable media. Better than VHS because of ease of distribution to police, insurance and legal people.
