A webmaster is responsible for maintaining a web site, which includes updating page context, fixing errors, adding new pages, removing obsolete pages, and any other task that is necessary to keep a web site running like a fine tuned automobile. Depending on the nature of your web site, this job may require anywhere from day-to-day updates, once a week, once a month, or even every hour! Webmaster The person or member of a team responsible for the upkeep, management and promotion of a Website and related Internet/Intranet activity. May or may not have done the original webpage design, but certainly makes changes and improvements. A site goes through two stages - web design and then webmastering. Web Designer Creates Webpages, often including scripts to make the page interactive. Part of design includes navigation between pages, structure of Website, etc. May be called upon to revise a page, but generally the job is finished once a page is designed, accepted by the Website owner, and posted. Also called a Web Author, Web Developer. |
