What is VideoCapture? Transfering Video Data Digital Devices
Video Capturing
VideoCapture is the transfer of video data from another device. This data can include screen shots and 'film' with sound. Although this can be done with an external video capture device it is often cheaper, easier and higher quality can be attained by using an internal card. There are two main types of VideoCapture analogue and digital. For capture from digital devices such as digital cameras see 'digital cameras'. For VideoCapture from digital camcorders see 'firewire'. For analogue VideoCapture, from a aerial, VCRs, etc. an ATI 'All in Wonder' card can be used. This card can capture video, with sound, in 'real time'. The quality attained will depend on other factors, such as the specification of the PC, and of course the source of the video. Televisions can also be plugged into 'All in Wonder' cards, allowing any video you can play on your monitor to be played on a television.
