Booting a computer is simply starting it. You press the ON switch on the CPU unit. The computer will look for your operating system, if there is a diskette in the floppy drive, it will look there first. So if you accidentally left a floppy in the drive, it will confuse the computer and you will see a message on the screen that says the disk in the drive is not a bootable disk. Simply remove that disk and hit any key. The computer will then see no disk in the drive and go to the C:/ drive to look for the operating system. It'll find it there and boot into Windows. |
